For the second part of the Valentines Day lookbook series I’ve put together an outfit perfect to wear on a valentines day dinner date. For those who missed the first part of the series, I pieced together an outfit for a valentine’s cocktail date, this look is dressier and more suitable for a restaurant sit down dinner.
The Dinner Date
It wouldn’t be Valentines day without some red in the outfit and of course some love hearts! I love Valentines day, heart shaped chocolates, indulging in food with loved ones and just using the occasion to truly appreciate those around you. This year my boyfriend and I are finally visiting Clos Maggiore so I will report back as to whether it lives up to the hype – the decor certainly looks stunning.
I love wearing red but the occasion rarely arises where I feel its socially acceptable to wear such a statement piece. Despite that, after seeing this dress I had to convince myself that it was a suitable investment. This red dress is very flattering, it has lace detailing with a lattice pattern neckline. The neckline is high so there isn’t too much skin on show with the dress being quite short. It’s figure hugging but pulls you in at waist and is comfortable to wear, making it ideal for a dinner date.
I accessorised it with this Burberry heart print scarf, if this doesn’t scream Valentine’s Day nothing does! These scarves are incredibly soft, wearable and such a classic that everyone needs in their wardrobe. It is also reversible so it can be flipped over to display just the traditional Burberry print and can be coordinated with so many different outfits.
I love shoes with a cute ankle strap and these Kurt Gieger ones are no exception. They are rose gold which goes perfectly with the red dress. I paired the outfit with a leather jacket that should be a staple in every girls wardrobe. It’s the perfect jacket for transitioning seasons and on the odd occasion that London warms up in winter.
Let me know what you guys are up to for Valentines Day, have a good one whether you’ve are out on a date or enjoying a girls movie night in – Happy Valentine’s Day!
