Valentines Day Lookbook – The Cocktail Date

Welcome to my first outfit blog piece! Not sure whether to be excited or terrified about venturing into fashion blogging but I love putting outfits together for different occasions so here it goes. My first two posts are in preparation for Valentine’s Day and themed around the infamous date night.

The Cocktail Date

With it being super cold in London at the moment it is difficult to dress for the weather whilst still looking like you’ve made the effort for a date. I’m not too sure this is the warmest outfit to wear in February but you will certainly look at home in a London cocktail bar.

I love the black leather detailing on this pencil skirt and the gold zip on the back is a cute addition too. It is flattering whilst the leather lace adds something extra and makes the hem line interesting.
Ruffles are very in this season so I opted for a floral off the shoulder top.

Whilst florals aren’t exactly what you immediately think of in winter, darker floral patterns can be worn throughout the year. I accessorised it with a fur scarf to add an extra layer of warmth! The ruffled top is very feminine so perfect to wear on a date as well as being super flattering.

With it being winter the weather is pretty unpredictable so I went for black ankle boots which I’ve been living in since I brought them over a year ago. I’d definitely recommend packing a warm coat to take with you to wear on route to the bar and thick tights would also work with this outfit.

Skirt – River Island
Top – Asos
Fur Scarf (similar) – Asos
Boots (similar) – Asos
Lip Colour – Maybelline

Let me know what you guys love wearing on date night and if you are heading anywhere exciting for Valentine’s Day!
