Now that university has started and everyone is back to work Christmas feels like a life time ago. That being said it was over two weeks ago so this post is rather late (in true Joelle style). It was great to have the time to unwind over the Christmas holidays and prepare myself for another term at university.
Apart from one Christmas that I spent in Sydney whilst on my year abroad I’ve spent every single Christmas at home with my family and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m sure everyone does Christmas their own way but for our family it is usually a quiet one. It’s a chance to relax, spend time together watching some random TV and making the most of all being in the same place for a change.

Being from Devon, it is nice to go back to the countryside especially when London is getting a bit much and catch up with school friends that are still in the area. I spent enough time lounging around in my dressing gown to last me the whole of 2017, enjoying endless cups of tea courtesy of mum and getting hooked on the series The Crown.
Here are a few of the things that I got for Christmas:
Nike Run Leggings – Even though I’ve been running on/off for around a year now I’ve refused to invest in any decent leggings. Thankfully my boyfriend brought me some Nike Run leggings which I’ve been living in since Christmas. They are so comfy and I’m hoping they keep me motivated throughout the next year.
Burberry Scarf – Whilst not strictly a Christmas present I like to justify my purchase by claiming it is an early Christmas present to myself. I opted for the Burberry classic print with red hearts. The hearts are so cute and I think they break up the print as well as making it a bit more individual then the plain print.
MAC Ruby Woo – By far my favourite MAC lipstick thanks to Taylor Swift. It’s a retro red that I like to wear with a simple black flicked eye liner so I was in need of a replacement.
NYX Copenhagen – Two of my friends brought me the NYX soft matte lip cream in the colour “Copenhagen”. I love wearing bold lip colours but I don’t own any vampy red shades so I am looking forward to wearing it in 2017.
Chocolates – Considering most people try to eat healthily as a New Year’s Resolution I’m not sure who thought it was a good idea to give chocolate at Christmas but I am not complaining! Would it be Christmas without a box of Roses?! My stash is getting my through the mountain of university work I have to catch up on.
I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and wishing you all the best for 2017!
